What’s The Difference between SWB & LWB?

The terms ‘SWB’ and ‘LWB’ are used on most of the Pajero listings on this website and these are shortened versions of ‘short wheel-base’ and ‘long wheel-base’. At a very basic level, an LWB has a longer body than the SWb, as the name infers.

What are the Benefits of a SWB?

An SWB vehicle is great for many of the narrow roads which are found out in the veld and at the coast. The vehicles are less likely to get stuck whilst off-roading or on rocky terrain. They also offer a much better turning circle for doing three-point turns.

What are the Benefits of a LWB?

There is more space inside for both luggage and the family, and the ride is smoother due to the longer wheelbase allowing for a longer time between road or off-road bumps.
