Mitsubishi Pajero SUV Specs, Features and Review
The Legendary Mitsubishi Pajero SUV!

The Mitsubishi Pajero LWB Has Been Discontinued

After enjoying decades of success across the globe, the Mitsubishi Pajero LWB has been discontinued. For those who own a Mitsubishi Pajero Long Wheelbase or experienced the sheer joy of driving one, this is a heavy pill to swallow, especially since it has proven superior time and time again in off-road races including the Dakar Rally.

As many owners can attest, the Mitsubishi Pajero LWB is reliable with a build quality second to none and is very capable off-road. As you’d expect from modern SUVs – it’s also known to be a great urban warrior ready for anything that comes its way. Fortunately, you can still buy a used Pajero LWB or opt for one of the Pajero SUV alternatives, such as the Pajero Sport, Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi Eclipse and the Mitsubishi ASX.

Please Note! Not all vehicle features seen in this video might be available in the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV Long Wheelbase Models sold in South Africa.

Mitsubishi Pajero SUV – Drive a Legend!

The Mitsubishi Pajero SUV is a Long Wheelbase 5-Door recreational vehicle that also doubles up as the perfect family car. It is as rugged as it is safe and as comfortable as it is easy to drive, and it is one of the only SUV’s in the world that uses rally proven technology to ensure that it is just as at home off the road as it is on it. From a design perspective the Pajero looks the part of a Rugged Sports Utility Vehicle, however there is a surprisingly soft undertone than can occasionally be glimpsed in its finisings and comfort features. On the outside this includes Headlamps with Automatic Levelling Function, Daytime Running Lights, Electrically Adjustable Fold-away Mirrors, 18″ Alloy Wheels and even a headlamp washer. While on the inside this includes 7 leather seats, leather cabin trimmings, a Rockford Fosgate® Sound System and Bluetooth with Hands-free Voice Control.

As one would expect with a vehicle of this calibre, it also has exceptionally high safety standards (more about these active and passive safety features at the bottom of the page), which makes it an exceptional vehicle for keeping the family safe on South African roads. One of the standout safety features however are the best in class 6 airbags, which include Driver, Passenger, Seat and Side Curtain Airbags. Comfort and Convenience Guaranteed

As hardcore as the 5-Door Pajero might be, there is a refined level of sophistication both inside and outside of the cabin that makes this vehicle more than a simple 4×4. These comfort and convenience accessories transcend the normal class features, and include 7 Leather Seats (with Heated Front Seats), 60/40 Split Rear Seats with Tumble Type Fold-up Function, Underfloor Fold-away 3rd Row Seats, Multi-function Leather/Wooden Steering Wheel with Audio and Cruise Control, Rockford Fosgate® Sound System, Bluetooth with Hands-free Voice Control and a Fully Trimmed Leather Interior with Chrome Finishings.

Safety Comes First

As one would expect in a family orientated SUV, the active and passive safety features are second-to-none! Thankfully we did not have to put them to the test, but some of the most impressives ones for us are without a doubt the 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, the ABS with EBD and the rear park distance control with Camera.

Mitsubishi Pajero LWB Fuel Consumption Chart

Mitsubishi Pajero SUV Fuel Consumption*

The 88 litre fuel tank in the Pajero ensures that the big 3.2-litre DOHC Intercooled Turbocharged Direct Injection Diesel Engine has more than enough juice to take even long journeys out into the bush. That said, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how little fuel this engine uses when compared to many of the Pajero’s competitors. For your convenience we’ve included a quick look breakdown of the Mitsubishi Pajero Fuel Consumption Figures below. If however you would like more details on the Pajero, you can download the Pajero Brochure here.
